California State Championships results posted Results of the California State Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships on February 6 in Santa Clarita have been posted. Congratulations to the athletes for so many outstanding lifting performances and sincere thanks to the referees, platform & meet scoring staff who efforts contributed to a successful event. Also, congratulations to Adam Johnson for being recognized as the 2009 Volunteer of the Year.

USAPL California membership up in 2009 USAPL membership in California grew to 120 members, our highest member count since 2004 and 38% growth as compared to the previous year. Overall, USAPL membership across country grew to almost 4300 members, our highest membership count since 2000 and 10% growth over last year.
Many thanks to all of our members- lifters, coaches and volunteers who made this recent success and growth of our membership possible.

2010 California State Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships Final Roster UPDATED A Lifter Roster & Flight List has been posted for the 2010 California State Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships to be held on February 6, 2010 at Velocity Sports Performance in Santa Clarita. IMPORTANT: There will be TWO lifting sessions, each with separate weigh-ins: AM session- ALL BP only, all women and men powerlifting 114-181. PM session- men powerlifting 198+. The official web site for the 2010 Men's Open/Teen/Junior National Powerlifting Championships has been launched: www.mensnationals.com. The Championships will take place June 18-20 in Palm Springs, California.
The website showcases the event and provides information on all aspects of the championship for athletes, coaches, officials and spectators as well as general information about the Palm Springs region.
Currently the site offers information on hospitality, air travel, detailed event schedule, sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, and background information on the championship. The site will be updated with press releases, competition results and photo galleries. 2010 California State Championships Entry Form now posted The entry form for the 2010 California State Powerlifting & Bench Press Championships is now available in the Calendar section. The California State Championships will be held on February 6, 2010 at Velocity Sports Performance in Santa Clarita. The event is open to all levels of experience, new and elite, and will offer powerlifting and bench press only events in standard equipped and raw categories.
This event is currently the last opportunity in California for lifters to qualify for USAPL national championships in 2010, including the upcoming Men's Open Teen/Junior National Powerlifting Championships to be held on June 18-20 in Palm Springs.
IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ: Due to the anticipated entry response and our limitations to run the meet as a one-day event, late entries will not be accepted for this championship. Please be sure to send in your entry no later than January 13, 2010 to ensure your participation in the State Championships. Results and State Records Updated Posted October 3, 2009 Steven Green Wins Fourth Consecutive IPF Masters World Title Congratulations to California lifter Steven Green who defended his world championship title on Saturday, October 3 at the IPF Masters World Powerlifting Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic. In addition to earning the gold medal for the total, Steve earned three individual lift medals with a bronze for the squat and two gold medals for the bench press and deadlift. Steve's total earned him the gold medal ahead of Eberhard Schwanke of Germany, and Roger Hendrix, also of the U.S. Steve trailed Schwanke at the subtotal but then produced the effort in the deadlift, a lift of 672 lb., that put him into the lead to secure the gold medal and earn his fourth consecutive Masters world championship title. |
